“The Clarions have gone from strength to strength since I first heard them and particularly in the last year they have developed their ‘the art of song’ craft. They are one of the most important bands in the North East at the moment but you have to see them live to understand what I’m talking about” ~ Martin Metcalfe, The Filthy Tongues, & Goodbye Mr McKenzie.
The Clarions, a rock/alternative rock trio from North East England, got together in early 2016. Since their demo EP was released in April 2016, they have developed their own style: a blend of alternative and traditional rock with a distinctive sound.
The band have performed in London and across the North East, including the Surf Cafe Primavera Festival, Oxjam, and headline shows at The Cluny in Newcastle, where they have also supported other artists, such as The Filthy Tongues and Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip.
In 2017, a taster single ‘Like We Do’ was released prior to the follow up ‘Something Different’, the double A-side cd, was the first ever release from ‘Old Stick Records’ and was picked up on and played by BBC Introducing, as well as other local and national radio stations, and even reached the US via Blast Media FM.
Their next single is scheduled for release in March 2018, at a launch night with stable mates CAMENS & Chris Wise & The Hidden Revolution.
